Curriculum Planning

AGU Psychology follows the Flexible and Dynamic Learning with Critical Pedagogy (FDLCP), which uses a critical pedagogical approach as a teaching model. Therefore, each student may follow their individual curriculum for their individual needs. Please find some useful tips for term registration and a suggestive term plan for completing a psychology major below. You can also find the graduation and the curriculum requirements on our website.

You can find on this page 1) Useful tips for the term registration periods at AGU, 2) Suggestive Psychology Education Plan

Useful Tips for Term Registration Periods

  • If you are taking BRG, you cannot take ENG101.
  • The prerequisite of GLB2XX courses is BRG.
  • The prerequisite of GLB3XX is ENG101.
  • The prerequisite of ENG 102 is ENG101.
  • You cannot take overlapping courses. Your advisor won’t approve it.
    • Exception 1: if you took and failed (got an F) one of the overlapping courses before
    • Exception 2: if the overlapping hour of one of the courses is asynchronous.
  • Cognate courses are introductory level courses of other disciplines. Please see the cognate courses list before taking one on the related web page of the Department of Psychology.
  • Check your curriculum planner at UIS regularly.
  • Try to complete 30 ETCS a semester.
  • If you need to write to your advisor, do not use the “UIS messages” option; instead, send an e-mail via your AGU email account. UIS may not be a reliable messaging system, particularly during the busy registration period.
  • If you want to take courses from upcoming semesters, remember that you need to complete your failed and untaken previous courses first, and you need to pass BRG.
  • If you sent a consent request to an instructor, follow it. Once you get an answer, arrange your schedule, and send your registration to your advisor for approval.
  • Lastly, please ensure that you have a good command of the information existing in AGU regulations for the undergraduate programs and the full curriculum of your program, along with its graduation and curriculum criteria.
