Curriculum Info
AGU Psychology has used an innovative and contemporary approach to build its curriculum. The policies of curriculum construction are as follows:
In the 21st-century global context, AGU Psychology aims to train psychologists integrated into the world, equipped with the knowledge and skills required by the business, art, and industrial sectors, as well as demanded by the social life itself. Thus, as a pioneering example in Turkey, AGU Psychology follows Flexible and Dynamic Learning with Critical Pedagogy (FDLCP), which uses a critical pedagogical approach as a teaching model. AGU Psychology adapts its eight main program objectives and nine basic skill acquisitions and learning outcomes to its entire program based on this approach. These objectives include Knowledge Base Research Methods, Quantitative Literacy, Critical Thinking, Interaction, Communication Skills (Written & Oral), Information and Technology Literacy, and Values in Psychology. Having these objectives at its core foundations, the AGU Psychology department emphasises the skills and educational attainments for the students as not only deemed necessary by the Turkish Psychological Association (Türk Psikologlar Derneği [TPD]) in its accreditation criteria but also required by the European Federation of Psychologists Associations (EFPA) and by other prestigious educational institutions.
